A Track Record In Safety
OPTIMAL has an impressive track record when it comes to maintaining no Loss Time Injuries (LTI):

• During its project stage, OPTMAL set a new record in the Malaysian construction industry when it achieved an excellent safety record of 27 million man hours without LTI.

OPTIMAL's proactive approach in promoting health, safety and environment, and the well being of its employees has been recognized by various parties:

• The Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health award winner from 2001 to 2004.

• The Dow Chemical Company's "Responsible Care®" Award for Environmental Health and Safety Excellence during the company's project stage in 2002.

  Gold Merit Award 2002

• A Merit Award for Environmental Management by Petroliam Nasional Berhad in 2003, in recognition of OPTIMAL's commitment in environmental conservation as well as monitoring program which are above regulatory requirements.

• The 2005 Caring Employer Award by the Ministry of Human Resources Malaysia, in recognition of the Company's responsible care initiative towards its employees and the community.

• ISO 14001:2004 certification from SIRIM QAS International in January 2006

• The Chemical Industries Council of Malaysia (CICM) Responsible Care Awards 2006 - OPTIMAL was presented the Gold Award for Distribution Code and the Silver Award for Pollution Prevention Code

• OPTIMAL CHEMICALS (M) SDN BHD was accorded the ISO 9001:2000 quality management standard by SIRIM QAS for the Manufacture and Supply of Derivatives products in Kertih as well as for the Sales and Marketing of Derivatives products in Kuala Lumpur in August 2006.
