OPTIMAL Brings Festive Cheer To Orphans And The Underprivileged In Kertih
KUALA LUMPUR, November 8, 2004 – In conjunction with the forthcoming festive celebration, the OPTIMAL Group of Companies (OPTIMAL) presented cash contributions to approximately 70 orphans and the underprivileged from around Kertih, Terengganu, as a token for Hari Raya. The contribution was presented by OPTIMAL’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, YM Tengku Mahamat Tengku Mahamut at a ‘Buka Puasa’ gathering held on Wednesday, 3 November at the Company’s premises in Kertih.
The event, which is part of OPTIMAL’s annual Ramadhan program with the community was attended by some 150 staff including those from neighbouring plants. Also present were representatives of local authorities.
In his speech, YM Tengku Mahamad said “The contribution is line with the true spirit of Ramadhan, which is kindness and compassion especially for the less fortunate in our community. In supporting this noble cause, we hope the contribution will assist in making the forthcoming Hari Raya more meaningful for the underprivileged.
“Apart from contributing to the underprivileged families, single mothers as well as orphans, the program is also aimed at fostering closer ties with our neighbors, local authorities as well as members of the surrounding community. And what better time to renew such ties than during the Ramadhan”.
After handing over the contributions, YM Tengku Mahamat and guests broke fast together before proceeding to the OPTIMAL Surau where they performed the Maghrib, Isya' and Tarawikh prayers.
