KERTIH, January 6, 2005 – The OPTIMAL Group of Companies (OPTIMAL) today contributed school bags, shoes and uniforms to 80 underprivileged students as part of its corporate citizenry commitment in Kertih.

The contribution is in line with OPTIMAL’s effort to enhance the academic performance of students in rural areas and foster better ties with the local community by playing a proactive role in enhancing their socioeconomic well-being.

Present at the event was Tuan Haji Abdullah Ali, District Education Officer of Dungun/Marang and Yang Mulia Tengku Mahamad Tengku Mahamut, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of OPTIMAL.

In his speech, Yang Mulia Tengku Mahamad said, “As a responsible corporate citizen, OPTIMAL is committed towards bringing value to the community in which it operates. As such, the contribution would ease the burden of the underprivileged students in rural areas in preparing for the new school term. It is hoped that the contribution will motivated the student to strive more in their studies and enhance their academic performance”

During the event, received OPTIMAL ‘Back-To-School’ contributions were students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Tebing Tembah, Paka, Sekolah Menengah Paka, Sekolah kebangsaan Kg Nyior, Kertih and Sekolah Menengah Kertih received school bags, shoes and uniform courtesy of OPTIMAL.
